If fans needed any more convincing that Dying Light remains a significant focus over at Techland, it seems the company is looking to implement even more content for the game this summer, with the studio recently revealing that a brand new DLC is coming to the game. Titled Hellraid, the additional content will see players “dive into the depths of a new dungeon map, full of new enemies and weapons,” and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The announcement comes alongside a cryptic and incredibly eerie new trailer, which seemingly highlights how players will descend into the brand new environments Hellraid offers. Beginning in a dark, disheveled building, the trailer shows players sinking deeper down a series of terrifying hallways, as demonic symbols begin to stretch across the walls. The camera then stops at a floating red icon, which slowly dissipates as an arcade machine appears through a mysterious dark portal. It switches on, with the words “insert a soul” appearing on the screen, followed by the Dying Light: Hellraid title card. It seems this will be how players transition into the additional content when the DLC launches later this year.

For those unaware, Hellraid refers to a now-canceled project announced by Techland back in 2012. It would’ve been a first-person fantasy hack-and-slash, which saw players take on skeletons, ghosts, and other monstrous foes in dungeon-like settings. Speaking to IGN, Techland claimed the “announcement is just DLC and… the company is not working on any other Hellraid projects,” so it appears the link between the two titles is simply a fun crossover.

Outside of this brand new DLC, Techland’s work on Dying Light 2 has recently been met with some troubling issues, with the upcoming sequel seeing a hefty delay without a new release date. Hopefully, this DLC will be an excellent way for fans to stay occupied while they wait for Techland to get Dying Light 2 onto store shelves.

Dying Light: Hellraid will be available this summer for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
