Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a reinvention of the previous Hot Pursuit game, and it brings a whole lot more to the cat-and-mouse gameplay. Once again, it’s time to either chase or be chased. Microsoft had already shown off Minecraft’s ability to utilize the HoLolens, but seeing it live and on-stage was something entirely different. The holographic interactions, which took place atop an on-stage table, seemed completely fluid and natural. Using hand-swipe controls, the demonstrator was able to easily navigate around the map, which provided a live view of what was happening on a local Minecraft server. Interestingly, it looks like HoloLens didn’t strictly load via biomes, but provided a centralized and easily scrollable viewpoint, which loaded on a block-by-block basis as the player moved around....

EA has officially dropped the attempt to trademark the term Ghost for the development studio Ghost Games, known for creating the Need for Speed games. Ubisoft threatened legal action against EA for their trademark attempt, claiming that there would be confusion between the Ghost Games trademark and Ubisoft’s own series, Ghost Recon. Chances are that Ubisoft was particularly on edge about EA’s use of the term since Ghost Recon: Wildlands has just recently been announced, and they may have felt that their ability to promote it could have been infringed upon....
The update was originally announced back in September, sans details. Now that it’s nearly here, the developers over at EA Sports are finally ready to let gamers know some specifics. And even better, they’ve also confirmed that there’s a second update slated for mid-January. “We are delivering the first of three Madden NFL 21 Franchise updates with this [November] release. For the Madden NFL 21 post launch releases we have worked with Franchise community members to come up with a number of updates focused on improving usability for core users of the mode as well as a number of tuning upgrades,” reads a developers note recently provided to Newsweek from EA Sports....
