Amidst Nintendo fans fighting to get the chance to hold and play with the new Wii U, one entry in a popular Nintendo franchise went largely unnoticed. At this year’s E3, there were a wide variety of trailers, both cinematic and gameplay focused, which premiered to some serious fanfare. However, despite its remarkable features, DayZ isn’t without issues, one of which is the lack of a single-player option. Instead, players are required to log into a server and play against both NPCs and other gamers. In fact, the only way players could guarantee a single-player experience was to rent a server and lock it against outside players. Fortunately, that will be changing soon. Bohemia Interactive’s Brian Hicks announced today during the PC Gaming Show that the developer will soon offer an offline single-player option for the post-apocalyptic zombie-survival game, that players can host locally on their own computer....

Nonetheless, Electronic Arts has now confirmed that Battlefield 4 is in development. In fact they did so by verifying the aforementioned Battlefield 4 beta keys, available in pre-orders of Warfighter’s “Limited Edition.” No new details were released on Battlefield 4 itself - those are scheduled to “be revealed at a later date,” according to the EA press release - but we can begin to theorize when the shooter will start hitting stores....

Star Wars: Squadrons has proven extremely popular, helping breathe new life into the space combat genre and offering excellent gameplay at a competitive price. Because of that low price, the campaign is on the ‘short but sweet’ side, and multiplayer is the main focus. Even so, with only four starships for each side, relatively limited customization options, and just two game modes, many fans want more content just a few short weeks after launch....

This acquisition is by no means inherently grim, as Codemasters could potentially do great things under EA’s financial and production support. Dirt 5, Codemasters’ latest game prior to the merge, saw very positive reviews as a next-gen launch title. Understandably, these events have eroded PC gamers’ faith in gaming companies. But in a new interview, Peter O’Reill, the senior marketing manager of Origin (EA’s PC gaming platform), reveals that EA is “on a journey to regain the trust of the PC gamer”. O’Reilly explains that “over the last couple of years we have focused on ensuring a great play experience from launch and bringing players a better experience on Origin,” citing the Great Game Guarantee (refunds within 24 hours of launching the game), On the House (free games), and the recently announced Origin Access service as key examples in that initiative....

While 2021 started with still little to no information on the game, Techland has made massive strides in the months sense, releasing new content and videos showing the game and it’s many new features. While everything seemed set in stone for a late 2021 release, more unfortunate news has seeming arrived....

The console version of Dying Light 2 also appears to be solid. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, Dying Light 2 allows players to choose from three different modes. One graphics option focuses on running at the maximum possible resolution, while another aims to deliver a stable 60fps experience. The third option, known as Quality Mode, adds ray tracing and other graphical features. Both Resolution Mode and Quality Mode run Dying Light 2 at 30fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X....

Dying Light 2 is Techland’s follow-up to the acclaimed 2015 original, which combines the open-world zombie slaying action of Techland’s earlier hit Dead Island with the flowing parkour mechanics of Mirror’s Edge. Similar to the original, Dying Light 2 focuses heavily on traversal and parkour techniques, with players dashing across rooftops and over the heads of zombies as they head toward the next objective. A weapon crafting system allows players to gather materials around the world and craft various weapons which range from slashing to blunt weapons along with elemental effects like electricity and fire....
