During the show, Dying Light 2 revealed a new CGI trailer running about 2 minutes long. The trailer shows off much of what fans have come to expect from the franchise, including the hack and slash combat that the series is now known for along with heaps of parkour, zombies, and hostile human enemies. It’s not necessarily outside of what fans were expecting, though more frequent updates on the project are a good thing....

Fortunately, the silent treatment lasts for less than an episode of Fox’s hysterical new “Arrested Development,” and if there’s any justice, the show, which debuts Nov. 2, will last a lot longer. In a TV season littered with dysfunctional-family sitcoms, “Arrested Development” is the most dysfunctional of the bunch–and it’s funnier than all the others combined. Clever, nutty and utterly original, it’s something like “The Royal Tenenbaums” meets “Malcolm in the Middle,” held together with “Monty Python” Silly Putty....

Rainbow Six has always been about the squad, not the individual, and the newest installment continues this tradition, offering a variety of new multiplayer modes. Rainbow Six Siege’s alpha focused a competitive team-versus-team hostage situation. Ubisoft’s pre-E3 press event took a different route, unveiling Terrohunt, the game’s single player/co-op mode. Ubisoft’s developers are working overtime to ensure that every Terrohunt match is unique. Terrohunt starts when players join up as a team (or, in single player, decide to plow ahead with AI-controlled allies)....
Nintendo disappointed their fans greatly when they announced that The Legend of Zelda for Wii U was delayed to 2016. To make matters worse, they confirmed that the game wasn’t even going to be shown at this year’s E3 2015 event. However, even though the next premiere Zelda won’t see the light of day until next year, Nintendo did show off a couple of other Zelda titles during their E3 2015 Digital Event....
As promised, new gameplay footage for Friday the 13th: The Game has arrived online during the first day of E3 2016. The alpha gameplay is clearly labeled as in production, but fans can finally see the slayer versus camp counselor matchup in action with the updated graphics. In the absence of a PlayStation conference (Sony decided to skip the expo this year), this was the flagship presentation of the weekend and it certainly lived up to expectations, with most of our predictions coming true. Yesterday’s “Ubisoft’s Forward” conference focused on a small handful of games, with Rainbow Six Extraction alone taking up 20 minutes of the show. For their presentation, Microsoft took a decidedly different approach, inundating viewers with new titles and gameplay footage every other minute....
Last year’s E3 was canceled because of the Coronavirus pandemic, which led to many games industry companies running their own smaller reveal events or joining up with the Summer Game Fest that arose to take E3’s place. While Battlefront was the most attention grabbing piece of Star Wars content on show at EA’s conference, Galaxy of Heroes offers plenty to pique the interest of fans. The mobile title was described as a collectible card game RPG, which has prompted some speculation as to just how its gameplay will work. We know that characters, items and spacecraft from the movies will all be represented as cards, which could well play into a structure very similar to that of Hearthstone....
Despite the particularly vicious things EA has said about the Call of Duty franchise in the past, newly promoted executive Frank Gibeau claims that it’s all in the spirit of competition, and that they’re going to give the Call of Duty series just that. We approve. Gibeau believes the CoD series hasn’t really had anything to go up against in quite a while, and that Battlefield 3 will not only compete with Modern Warfare 3, but overtake it once the holidays arrive....
What that means in motion is that, while the Electronic Arts app and Origin for the Russian region will continue to be available, no games or content will be available for purchase in them. Basically, EA will allow users to continue using the games and content that they’ve previously purchased, but no new purchases will be able to be made in either Russia or Belarus. Third-party storefronts are also being contacted to remove EA games and content, though it may take some time for those requests to be fulfilled....
Electronic Arts’ latest patent listing specifically references a system that would be used in video games in order to generate natural-sounding and expressive audio from a written body of text. According to the listing in question, EA is hoping to use a special machine learning synthesizer to encode otherwise inexpressive writing with reasonably realistic audio that could then be used to voice video game characters. Beginning on Wednesday, October 12 and going all the way through Battlefield 1’s October 21 release date, Electronic Arts has stated that it plans on inviting special guests to host two-hour livestreams every day. Apparently, the shows are slated to focus mostly on multiplayer, with the main impetus behind the streams to be a showing of all the maps. In addition to straight-up multiplayer action, Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 1’s different game modes will also be detailed and shown off as well, including, but not limited to the additions of Operations and War Pigeons....
