2021 promises to be different though, with the Electronic Software Association (ESA) announcing that E3 will be back in full force this year, as a digital showcase. Aimed at both games media and fans, E3’s showcase will include the likes of Nintendo, Microsoft, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Konami as confirmed attendees. While there were worries and rumors that E3 2021 would be behind a paywall, the ESA has since confirmed that the event will be free for all viewers....
Announced earlier today, a report says that Electronic Arts will begin hosting what’s known as “Sims Sessions” from Tuesday, June 29 to Wednesday, July 7. Essentially, it’s an online music festival in which special guests will perform songs via The Sims 4 with the event being headlined by the likes of Bebe Rexha who will be performing her songs “Sabotage” with the lyrics translated into the gibberish language, Simlish. Other acts, such as Glass Animals and Joy Oladokun, will also be performing, but apparently their sets will be sung in English....

In September 2017, Electronic Arts was granted a new patent for a Multiplayer Video Game Matchmaking Optimization algorithm. The algorithm is called Engagement Optimized Matchmaking (EOMM) and aims to use matchmaking in order to keep players engaged in a game for longer. Playstyle, sportsmanship, skills, and a willingness to spend money are just some of the factors that this algorithm takes into account. Although the patent filing discusses engagement, many fans have raised eyebrows at this, saying that it is a way for EA to push players towards microtransactions....

The original Gears of War game is getting the full remastered treatment and will be available on the Xbox One at gorgeous 1080p resolution with 60 frame-per-second gameplay. The upgrades will not only make replaying the original campaign a much smoother experience, but will also clean up the multiplayer mode, as well.
